The CEO of Mexico's Comision Federal Electricidad, Jaime Hernandez, said Thursday afternoon in Houston he is considering a possible strategic alliance with a private-sector company.
The head of government-owned CFE made the comment during a presentation at the CERAWeek at IHS Markit conference.
Asked to elaborate, Hernandez said he has been looking at and analyzing companies that might make good strategic partners. He alluded to Mexico's 2015 Fibra E tax regulations that are similar to US master limited partnership rules as perhaps paving the way to establish a partnership with a private-sector firm.
