CLAUDIA SHEINBAUM IS TO INVEST USD 13.5 BILLION IN ENERGY PROJECTS

Presidential candidate Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced a 13,566 million dollar investment for power generating projects to 2030 if she wins next presidential election, she said in a meeting with the Mexico’s business leaders.

According to her plan, investment will develop new power generating projects, mainly wind and solar, and to modernize country’s hydroelectric plants.

Sheinbaum spoke before the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) members, as well as Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex), the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Mexico and other business organizations.

The candidate also expressed her commitment to develop a National Energy Plan for 2050, which prioritizes renewable energy.

Under the slogan that prosperity must be shared, the candidate representing the official coalition “Let’s Keep Making History” explained that the new projects account for 13,660 megawatts (MW) installed capacity.

“We have to accelerate the promotion of renewable energies,” she stated before representatives of chambers, associations and financial institutions gathered at the Meeting with Businesswomen and Businessmen event.
